Project Gettysburg Leon

Gettysburg College's Center for Public Service (CPS), in collaboration with Project Gettysburg León (PGL), sends students for immersion projects to our sister city León, Nicaragua. Immersion projects are off-campus, educational service opportunities where students travel to a site to serve in a community different from their own. Students learn about themselves and the world by working alongside people. These are the experiences and reflections from the trips.

Trip leader Dave Neagley '09 stands in front of Casa de Materna (maternity house), where pregnant women from rural areas can stay before giving birth so that the are close to a clinic. PGL funds were used to build the house and support the program.
